Trains being affected by gravity

I had the idea of the trains and cars being affected by gravity. If you have more cars linked to a train while going uphill you'll be slower that having less or no cars but if you're going downhill you'll go faster if you have multiple cars but if you're just using a train it'd go slower. Has anyone else thought about trains like this?

And maybe add it where you can make the cars "unlock their brakes" so that they can be moved freely
